MONROVIA – The Accountability Lab Liberia has launched Integrity Icons 2022 to award some of the most dedicated civil servants across the country.
This year marks the eighth edition of the Integrity Icon. It is an eight months-long program that will focus on a rigorous campaign to select dedicated individuals who are working in the public sector.
A strong vetting with three judges from three different sectors will be sorting out the candidate’s nominations to the last five winners.
The campaign will focus on 35 integrity icons in different sections ranging from health, education, security, engineers, judiciary, including the media.
Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of Accountability Lab Lawrence Yealue said this year’s campaign will focus more on females.
“We need to step up and focus on nation-building of integrity around women and we will be supportive,” Yealue said.
He added: “The reason we are doing it is deliberate, we want our mothers to leave the kitchen because they don’t just belong in the kitchen, but they are smart people, they turned the wheels of this country and we want to place the light on the good works they are doing.”
Yealue, also called civil servants who are working diligently all of the time to continue their good work adding that they are the reason the country will not break down amid all of its struggles.
